Signed "Bettjemann's Patent, London," this rosewood "tantalus" or liquor caddy has three cut crystal decanters. Dating from about 1925, this Art Deco antique is a work of art.
The nickel frame has a working lock to secure the bottles, and is engraved with a British royal crest. A little patina and wear enhance the original finish on the rosewood caddy.
The cut glass bottles and fitted stoppers have had chips and losses that have been reground and expertly polished, see photos. There are minor flakes at the edges, and there is etching inside the decanter bottles that is visible when they are dry, but when filled with liquid, disappears.
Size of this classic antique set is 14" long, 8" deep and 12" tall.
