An exceptionally well crafted double file cabinet in quarter sawn oak has 8 standard letter size file drawers. The glossy finish is excellent with just enough wear and mars for a little antique patina.
Signed "Library Bureau Makers," this superior quality office furniture was made for the Andrew Carnegie Foundation, which built and furnished public libraries across America, sparing no expense.
Wooden drawers slide on steel tracks. Cast rosy bronze hardware is all original from about 1910 except for the finial balls. This is actually early modular furniture - each stack of 4 drawers is a separate section, the paneled sides are also removable.
Overall size of this classic furniture is 33" wide, 28" deep and 52" tall.
