American Empire 1820 Antique Flame Mahogany Sofa

A classic American Empire period sofa from about 1820 is mahogany with beautiful flame grain. The glossy finish is in very fine condition with warm patina. There is some crazing and irregularities in the book matched figured grain, as is typical for antique "character" as shown.

Strong and tight, the frame is gracefully curved. Recent upholstery is a European design of the period, including bolsters. This furniture has a soft and comfortable seat, traditional in grand foyers, as the back was never finished. Height includes original brass wheels that could be removed if desired.

Size of this formal and elegant sofa is 7' 3" wide, 25" deep, 34" tall and the seat is 21" high.
