 Georgian furniture, popular from the early 18th century to the early 19th century (circa 1714–1830), reflects the elegance and refinement of Britain's Georgian era. Influenced by classical architecture and designers such as Thomas Chippendale, George Hepplewhite, and Thomas Sheraton, Georgian furniture is characterized by symmetrical designs, graceful proportions, and high-quality craftsmanship. Rich woods like mahogany, walnut, and satinwood were commonly used, often adorned with intricate carvings, inlays, and brass hardware. Signature elements include cabriole legs, ball-and-claw feet, pierced back splats, and decorative motifs such as acanthus leaves, shells, and urns. Georgian furniture evolved through early Queen Anne influences into the more delicate neoclassical aesthetics of the late 18th century.
