Antique Italian Gargoyle Hand Carved Table Pedestal

Hand carved of solid fruitwood about 1870, this stunning little octagonal chairside table or pedestal has deeply sculpted gargoyles, lion heads and paws.

Detailing is remarkably artistic and three dimensional on this Italian furniture. The finish is excellent, there are shrinkage separations in the top, see photos.

Size of this wonderful and imaginative antique is 18" diameter and 20" tall.
