An apothecary cabinet was hand hewn of solid teak in the Dutch East Indies about 50 years ago. Raised panels and niches are striking, joints have carved wooden pegs. The original finish preserves hand carving marks and is very well preserved. Waxed and buffed, all that is needed to maintain its luster is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth.
Four hand painted ceramic drug jars of indeterminate age, some with chips, are included. Hardware is wrought iron and brass, door locks work. Two separate pieces for easier moving, this is rustic and charming vintage furniture.
Measurements are 55" wide, 13" deep and 61 1/2" tall.
