This genuine late 1930's Art Deco pair - a tall chest and dresser with mirror are the best of their kind that we have seen. Shimmering diagonally matched mahogany, walnut burl, zebra wood and inlaid banding are gorgeous.
Signed "Jiranek Featurized Furniture Design," this style is called "Waterfall" because of the curved front edges. The satiny finish is excellent, hardware is original. Large drawers have solid oak dovetailed sides. Original mirrors are reverse cut and have enough "smoke" for a little antique character.
Both pieces have a beautiful marquetry medallion below. The tall chest has "hat boxes" from the days when everyone wore a hat when dressed up. There are beveled clear and golden mirrors
Measurements are 38" wide, 25" deep and 74" tall. The dresser has a removable mirror and is 50" wide, 25" deep, 72" and the base is 36" high. This American made pair shows expert craftsmanship throughout.
