Arts & Crafts Mission Oak 1905 Antique Combination Library Desk & Dining Table

This Arts and Crafts or Mission Oak library table or writing desk from about 1905 looks conventional, but pulling an iron bar underneath raises the top, then pulling square knobs release leaves on both sides to become a dining table. A reciprocating gear moves both leaves out together, then the same bar drops the top in the center. A little jiggling helps the mechanism, but it works quite well.

The restored finish is in excellent condition on quarter sawn oak, preserving a shrinkage separations from age for antique character. There is a drawer on this American made antique Craftsman furniture.

Measurements are 45" long, 31" tall, legroom is 24" underneath and width when closed is 26" and with both leaves extended, width is 45" overall.
