An exceptional secretary desk from the Arts and Crafts or Mission Oak period about 1905 has exposed mortise and tenon joints.
The restored deep finish is in excellent condition on bold solid quarter sawn oak, and preserves a stain in the top for a little antique character. There are also losses at the edges in several places, see photos. There is a key only for the drop front, which rests on brass support arms. Inside are tiny cubicles and drawers for papers. Drawers have original carved pulls and dovetailed joints on this American made Craftsman furniture.
Dimensions are 36" wide, 18" deep, 40" tall and the desktop is 28" high.
