Asian Hand Painted Lacquer Georgian Chinoiserie Secretary Desk

This exquisite "Chinoiserie" secretary desk with bookcase top combines Georgian lines, Asian hand work in lacquer and hand painted raised enamel. Estimate age is of this secretary is about 50 years.

A brass signature plaque is engraved "Georgian Furnishings Co, Hand Made in Seoul, Korea, New York, London and Paris." The artistry is beautiful with subtle scenes of palace gardens and court life.

The finish is excellent with tiny touchups, there is a chip to the bottom right corner of the dropfront, see photos. A key operates the lock on the upper doors, the dropfront lock does not work, the key is a handle only. The writing surface rests securely on pull out supports, inside are tiny drawers and cubicles. Upper bookshelves are adjustable. Hardware is heavy weight cast brass and lower drawers are graduated.

The double arched crown and finials are well proportioned on this remarkable vintage furniture, two separate pieces for easier moving.

Measurements are 41" wide, 21" deep, 85" tall and the desk surface is 30" high.
