Biedermeier 1825 Antique Austrian Roll Top Secretary Desk, Secret Compartments

An authentic "Biedermeier" period cylinder roll top secretary desk was hand crafted in Austria about 1825, and has superior workmanship including secret compartments.

The gleaming restored finish is in excellent condition on matched flame grain mahogany, preserving just enough mars, warps and shrinkage separations from age for a little antique character. Entirely hand crafted, the case and drawers have hand cut dovetail joints, drawers have solid oak sides.

The key operates all locks on this antique library furniture. When the roll is opened, the writing surface pulls forward. Inside are tiny drawers and secret compartments, carved pulls have genuine mother of pearl inlay.

Measurements are 45" wide, 24" deep, 49" tall and the writing surface is 31" high.
