Black Forest Antique 1880's Antique Table, Marquetry Mountain Scene

An authentic hand crafted 1880 era "Black Forest" table is from the region bordering Switzerland and Germany, famous for woodworking and cuckoo clocks.

This marvelous table has a walnut base with bird heads and remarkable detailing. The top is a mountain top scene with goats and an eagle, the border depicts stags, all inlaid with ebony and walnut burl in this marquetry work of art.

The finish is in excellent condition, the slightly wavy top has just enough mars and wear for antique character and has been revarnished for durability, see photos. The top of the pedestal shows that the top was once tilting, but is now fixed securely in place.

Measurements are 33" long, 24" wide and 31" tall.
