Bombe Chest with Green Marble Top 1920's

Hand made in France, this three-drawer chest or commode has true "bombe" or convex design. It was skillfully hand made with mahogany and satinwood banding. The marble is in excellent condition. There is very slight fading on the sides, and a shrinkage crack on the top right hand side - see photos. The original finish is in beautiful condition and this piece was made in France about 1920. It has beautiful cast brass mounts, and the drawers have hand dove tailed sides. The brass mounts are particularly detailed, and the patina on the matched and banded wood is quite rich and warm. It is 40" wide, 21" deep and 32" tall.
