Cherry Handmade China Cabinet or Bookcase

Whether used as a china cabinet or bookcase, this wonderfully hand-crafted cherry furniture is signed and dated 1946. A replica of a late 1700's Federal original, the workmanship is exquisite.

The glowing hand-rubbed finish is superb with warm patina, and the delicately shaped crown is especially graceful.

Inside the separate upper section are shelves with plate grooves. There is subtle banding in the lower section and inlaid keyhole escutcheons, the drawer has solid oak sides with hand-cut dovetails.

The drawer bottom is embossed "Made by Earl Baird, Nashville, Tenn, 1946," and he was clearly a very patient and skilled cabinetmaker.

Classic American vintage furniture, size is 41" wide, 21" deep, 6'4" tall and the base is 38" high.
