Classical Antique French Sculpture of Young Woman with Torch, Signed Hip Moreau
A lovely sculpture of a classical young woman, seated and holding a torch, dates from around 1900, and is signed "Hip. Moreau."
This work of art was cast in spelter metal, an alloy similar to pewter with an original dark bronze finish. The wood base has an ebony finish on this exquisite statue.
Hippolyte Francois Moreau lived 1832-1927, and was a member of the famous French Moreau family of sculptors.
Size is 11" across, 10" deep and 20" tall.
