Classical French Antique 1810 Carved Elm Burl Day Bed or Bench #30685

This Empire period day bed or bench was hand carved in the classical manner about 1810 in France of solid matched elm burl. A new upholstered pallet or bunky board is included, ready for a mattress or cushions and pillows.

The old finish in in very fine condition, preserving mars and shrinkage separations from age for a little antique character. Richly figured, the beautiful wood has warm patina on this Napoleonic era furniture.

Measurements are 79" long, 33" deep, 34" tall and the platform is 29" x 73" and 14" above the floor.
