A remarkable cheese wheel cutter has a mechanism to calculate the weight and price of a wedge of cheese, and is signed "Computing Scale Co., Dayton, Ohio" with the latest patent date of "May 12, 1903."
Iron with worn original paint and nickel mounts, there is some rust and corrosion, see photos. There are enameled metal inserts for cheese prices of 12 to 40 cents per pound.
The cleaver blade cuts a wedge and levers calculate the weight and price. A maple block underneath is well used.
Dimensions of this American made antique are 20" diameter excluding the handle and 10" tall.
