Hand made about 1860 to store jams and jellies from the fall harvest, they were intended to last a whole year. The lock does not work, the key is a handle only, probably jimmied by a hungry child locked out.
Solid poplar hardwood, drawers have hand cut dovetails and original turned knobs. Door panels are hand chamfered and square nailheads are visible on this American made country furniture. The finish is in excellent condition.
Dimensions are 42" wide, 16" deep and 53 1/2" tall.
