Country French Oak 1790 Antique One Door Armoire

Hewn of solid oak about 1790, a genuine Country French armoire was rebuilt about 70 years ago.

Hand planed oak is secured with carved wooden pegs at the joints. Brass lift off hinges and escutcheon are original, the working lock is later. Inside are rustic shelves and sockets where a closet pole was once installed, it could be fitted as desired.

This provincial antique from France has dings, mars, later nails - lots of historic character.

The finish is very good, waxed and polished, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its warm luster.

Size is 27" wide, 17" deep and 74" tall, interior depth is over 14."
