Country Pine Mid 1800's Antique Trunk, Chest or Coffee Table

Hand made for an immigrant to bring to America in the mid 1800's, this country pine trunk or chest could be used in a contemporary setting (or antique setting) as a coffee table, blanket chest or bench.

Entirely hand made with hand cut corner dovetail joints and hand planing marks, the satiny finish is excellent with warm antique patina and a few shrinkage separations from age. The working lock and key plus hinges and handles are original wrought iron. Inside is a covered compartment for valuables on this furniture from northern Europe.

The 5" tall feet were added later and could be removed if desired. Dimensions of this straightforward piece are 47" long, 26" wide and 25" tall.
