Dutch Baroque Oak 1870 Antique Tobacco Chest or Jewelry Box, Carved Monkey

A spectacular hand carved Baroque style tobacco box or jewelry chest was crafted by a master in Holland about 1870.

High relief sculpture includes a monkey carrying a basket with swag and pipe motifs. The original finish is very well preserved on this miniature antique European furniture.

It has been waxed and buffed so all that is needed to maintain its patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth. The lock does not work.

Measurements are 17" long, 13" deep and 12" tall.
