Signed "Edison Model C19," this wind up phonograph has a quarter sawn case and is entirely original. There are two different heads that can play both the thick Edison records and the thin standard or Victor records as well. The "Diamond Disc" series with genuine diamond needle was produced from 1912 to 1929.
A gold plated medal reads, "Diamond Disc Official Laboratory Model, Thomas A. Edison."
The finish is in very fine condition, there is slight crazing or crackling plus a few scratches for antique character, see photos. Waxed and buffed, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its warm luster.
In great working order, this top of the line record player has beautiful tone. There is a sliding "earmuff" volume control, speed and off switch plus lever drop cuing. A selection of thick Edison records is included with this American made antique furniture.
Measurements when closed are 23" wide excluding the removable crank, 25" deep and 51" tall.
