Empire 1800 Gold & Reverse Painted Mirror

Dating from the very early 1800's, a genuine American Federal or Empire period looking glass has its original gold leaf frame and an upper reverse painting on glass.

The frame is remarkably well preserved, embossed corner brass bosses are also original. There is some flaking to the painted scene, see photos.The mirror has slight golden "smoke" and silver loss along the top edge, see photo.

Hand made in New England, this historic antique measures 14" wide, 30" tall and 2" deep.
