Empire 1820's Antique Carved Mahogany Sofa, New Upholstery

A classical Empire period sofa from about 1820 was hand carved of solid mahogany with delicate acanthus leaf accents and scrollwork.

The finish is in excellent condition, preserving numerous mars and dings for antique character, see photos.

Reglued to serve another generation, the frame is tight and strong on this American made East Coast furniture. Original cast brass paw feet have iron wheels. Newly upholstered, the seat is soft but supportive.

Dimensions are 8' 3" wide, 27" deep, 37" tall and the seat is 20" high.
