A splendid 1830 era American Empire tea, breakfast or console table has a hand carved acanthus and lion paw pedestal. The top is a richly figured single piece of flame grain mahogany.
Revarnished at various times, the finish is very fine. A signature on an old label reads, "Joseph Zeigner (?), Upholsterer, Decorator and Cabinetmaker, Summit (?) N. J." This antique furniture is strong and durable. Swing out leaf supports have hand carved wooden hinges.
Measurements are 38" x 24" and 29" tall, with both 14" drop leaves raised, size is 38" x 52." See 26 photos on Harp Gallery website that enlarge to full screen size.
