An Empire period chest or dresser from about 1840 is solid cherry with curly or "tiger stripe" maple and striking birdseye drawer fronts. Carved lion paw feet and tapered columns with Ionic capitals are authentic.
The restored finish is in excellent condition on this American made furniture from Pennsylvania. Large drawers have hand cut dovetail joints and chamfered bottoms.
Measurements are 44" wide, 23" deep and 51" tall to the back-splash, 44" tall to the surface.
