Empire Antique Mahogany Secretary Desk

Sweeping Empire design is beautifully expressed in this secretary desk dating from about 1900. Matched flame grain mahogany has a polished finish in very fine condition. There are minor mars and wear, especially at the edges - see photos.

The curved front and scroll shaped legs have graceful proportions. Drawers are dovetailed and have heavy weight brasses. The drop front is supported on brass arms, inside are tiny cubicles and drawers.

A finely crafted American antique, the back splash is delicately scrolled. Dimensions are 41" wide, 22" deep, 43" tall and the writing surface is 29" high.
