An authentic 1840's Empire period East Coast furniture chest or dresser is hand made of mahogany and has a superb gleaming finish.

Entirely hand made and hand planed, drawers have tiny hand cut dovetail joints and chamfered bottoms. Shaped columns have carved Ionic capitals.

Matched flame grain drawer fronts are beautiful, the largest drawer is also banded. The top has a warp and shrinkage separations from age, see photos.

Dimensions of this American made antique are 47" wide, 22" deep and 50" tall.
