Empire Period 1835 Antique Carved Mahogany Sofa, New Upholstery

An American made Empire period sofa from around 1835 is matched flame grain mahogany. This sofa was handcrafted in the eastern U.S., and has been newly upholstered.

The restored finish is in excellent condition on this furniture. Reglued to serve another generation, the frame is tight and strong. There have been various restorations and shrinkage separations from age for a little antique character, see photos. The seat and back are firm, in keeping with the period.

Size is 90" wide, 25" deep and 37" tall, the seat is 19" deep and 19" tall.
