A solid mahogany console table has an unusual scissor action frame that opens to a long dining table.
Signed "Wilkinson Patent Moorfields," this 1860's furniture from England has incredible single wide planks of solid mahogany. The excellent restored finish preserves just enough stains and shrinkage separations from age for a little character, see photos.
Three wide leaves have matching skirts or aprons and solid brass "forks" to connect securely. When closed in console position, there is some play or wiggle in the base, mostly from the angled brass wheels on all ten legs.
Measurements in closed or console position are 48" wide, 22" deep and 28 1/2" tall. When extended with all three leaves in position, width is 48," length is 10' 2" overall and legroom is just over 24" underneath.
