A very charming French country wall clock is a great runner, and has beautiful brass repousse dial surround and pendulum. Often called a "wag-on-the-wall, " the Morbier movement is a traditional farmhouse classic from about 1880.
The 8 day movement has been cleaned and oiled, and repeats its hourly strike, just in case you weren't paying attention the first time. Surrounded by hand-hammered brass with peacock and fruit motifs, the porcelain dial has some crackling, see photos.
Behind the deeply embossed pendulum are iron weights. Modern steel brackets make mounting fairly easy.
This charming Victorian era clock is characteristic of the south of France, and measures 13" wide, 4' 5" tall including the pendulum and 7" deep.
