French Pine Bonnetiere or Armoire - Antique

When every man, woman and child wore a hat, fashionable French folks had a small armoire or "Bonnetiere" for storage of their bonnets and hats.

This nicely carved hat and bonnet cabinet is from late 1700's or early 1800's. There are carved details and an arched front door, and the door has raised panels and original lift off hinges. The lock and hinges are original and the lock works.

Crafted in France, the pine finish is in excellent condition. Size is 37" wide, 16" deep and 7" 7" tall. There are 5 - 11" interior shelves.
