Wide dropleaves that can be raised on sturdy swing out "gatelegs" make this 1880 era table very flexible - the narrow position works as a sofa table, one leaf up is nice for drinks or a dessert buffet, and both leaves raised is nice for dining or a buffet.
This elegant antique furniture is solid mahogany, dropleaves are carved from single wide planks of richly figured mahogany. The satiny finish is in excellent condition, the frame and gracefully curved feet are strong and durable.
Carved wooden hinges suggest either English or American origin. Measurements when closed are 40" long, 7" wide and 28 1/2" tall, with both leaves raised the top is 28" x 39."
