Embossed "Geneva Fluter, Geneva, Ill.," this antique cast iron ruffle maker or press was used to iron fabric into a precise fluted pattern.
The base is imprinted, "Pat'd Aug't 21, 1866, Heat This." The base was heated on a stove and damp fabric was rolled by the top fluter into stiff ruffles for collars, cuffs, etc.
Size when together is 6" long, 4" wide and 5" tall.
