A peaceful and reflective pose of a young woman was captured in this sculpted bust about 1910. There is a signature stamp on the back, but it is difficult to decipher: "Eretzl??? Geschutzt," German for "trademarked."
Above is a twin towered cathedral, and this sculpture would presumably be from Germany or Austria.
The original patinated gold finish on composition or ceramic has a little wear and a few mars for antique character, see photos. On the base is a lake scene with sailboat.
Measurements of this lovely but mysterious work of art are 12" across and 19" tall.
