A magnificently carved grandfather or tall case clock from 1932 still has its original working electric movement. The craftsmanship on this one of a kind work of art is remarkable, and includes spiral columns, family coats of arms, an angel and exquisite Gothic tracery that is found in medieval Cathedrals.
A Missouri woodcarver created this solid mahogany clock for his own family, and it descended with later generations. The original finish is extremely well preserved with warm antique patina and has been cleaned and polished. The hand carved dial bears the Latin motto, "Horas Vigilo," or Vigilant Hours.
Three separate sections stack together to form this historic furniture. Measurements are 29" wide, 19" deep and 8' 7" tall.
