Dating from the Hepplewhite or Federal period about 1780, this classic dresser or chest is mahogany with rosewood and satinwood banded drawers. The finish is in excellent condition on this East Coast American made antique furniture.
Drawers have hand cut dovetail joints and chamfered bottoms. Brasses are about 100 years old but not original. Carved feet have an authentic flare shape.
There are shrinkage separations from age on one side, see photos. The rough sawn back is attached with square cut nails.
Size is 38" wide, 17" deep and 39" tall.
