Hand crafted about 1790 during the Hepplewhite period, an elegant sewing stand or work table is mahogany with inlaid ebony banding. The finish is in very fine condition, preserving some shrinkage separations from age, see photos.
Panels are woven silk, the interior is old paper on this American made antique furniture. Below two false drawers is a drawer with hand cut dovetailed pine sides and square cut nails. Brass knobs could be original. Delicate but sturdy, size is 17" wide, 13" deep and 29 1/2" tall.
