An exquisite 18th Century design cartouche case bracket clock is dated "1974" and signed "FSH" for Hermle, a prominent German clockmaker.
The curved case and matching bracket or shelf are matched rosewood or palisander with inlaid marquetry. Bronze mounts are complete, and the original satiny finish is superb.
The 8 day movement keeps time accurately, striking the half hour and counting the hour with a two note chime.
Located in Gosheim, Germany, the Franz Hermle company was founded in 1922. Size of this elegant vintage clock is 13" wide, 6" deep and 23" tall, the bracket measures 14" wide, 7" deep and 8" tall.
