Isle d' France & Paris Colored 1700 Antique French Map

Engraved and hand colored around 1700, a map of the "Le Isle d'France" province around Paris is mounted in a double sided frame, showing a related article in Latin on the reverse.

This antique map is composed of two sheets of paper, glued together in the center. This French map has stains, discoloration and tears at the edges, see photos. Around the perimeter is an impression of the original engraved printing plate. On the reverse side is the article "Franzia Vulgo France," printed in Latin with Greek and French quotations.

We have not removed this antique map, it is sealed into a frame from about 50 years ago. Overall dimensions are 25" wide and 22" tall.
