Louis XVI French Style Vintage Library Writing Desk, Curly Maple, Tooled Leather

A large library or writing desk in the French Louis XVI manner from about 50 years ago is solid curly maple with a gold tooled leather top. There are pull out shelves with matching tooled leather at both ends.

The renewed finish is in excellent condition, preserving the subtle "distressing" for an antique effect. There are dings and wear in the leather for a little character, see photos. Pegged joints and dovetailed drawers show expert construction on this American made vintage furniture.

Brass mounts are original and locks work. We found no maker's signature.

Measurements are 63" long, 31 1/2" deep, 31" tall and legroom is 25" underneath.
