A remarkable inlaid marquetry picture of Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany includes dozens of tiny pieces of exotic hardwoods. About 50 years old, the original shop in Solingen is inscribed on the back. There is a gold liner and a loss on the right edge of the original frame, see photos.
The castle was built by crazy King Ludwig II of Bavaria, who was forced out after almost bankrupting his kingdom with building projects.
Size is 18" x 15" and 1 1/2" deep.
Shipping is $20 in the US.
