A giant oak mallet was said to have been used in the Navy to pound dock ropes and pegs into place.

Signed, "U.S. Gov't, Walnut Hill Co., Ind.," a later stamp is "BFH." There are mars and dings for antique character, age is perhaps 75 years. The head has iron bindings around the "butcher block" round barrel.

Measurements are 34" long, 9 1/2" wide and the head is 8" diameter.
