Hand crafted of pine about 1860 in Norway, this picturesque corner cabinet could be hung on a wall as well. The original finish has warm patina and has been waxed and buffed, so all that is needed to maintain its antique glow is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth.
The lower drawer has hand cut dovetail joints with a secret compartment at the back. Carved wooden pegs and hand planing marks are authentic on this nostalgic country furniture. The later lock and key work and wrought iron hinges are hand engraved. There have been restorations to the base and top, around 100 years ago. Authentic wooden pegs instead of nails are visible on the back of this charming cupboard.
Measurements are 23" across the crown tip to tip, 33" tall and the sides are 16 1/2" deep.
