A Victorian Gothic bookcase was hand carved of solid oak in Scandinavia in the early 1900's. There is a gallery for books and a new leather writing surface. Gothic tracery and columns are distinguished.
The top has been revarnished for durability, the rest of the original finish is very well preserved. Waxed and buffed, all that is needed to maintain the warm luster is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth.
The center drawer and doors only have working locks on this European antique library furniture. Drawers have solid oak sides with hand cut dovetail joints.
Size is 58" wide, 34" deep, 33" tall, the top is 31" high and the kneehole is 19" wide and 25 1/2" high.
