An "ice box" from about 1900 is solid ash and oak with original tin and porcelain interior, signed "Alaska of Muskegon, Michigan." There is a compartment for a block of ice on this antique "refrigerator." Original hardware is solid brass with a well worn and patinated nickel finish.
The restored finish is in excellent condition on this American made antique pantry furniture. A glass porthole to the cork insulation is engraved, "A Life Preserver for Food, Cork Wall." American made kitchen pantry furniture, the back is wainscoting.
Size is 31 1/2" wide, 17" deep and 41" tall.
