Dramatic Victorian Gothic design is expressed in this pair of carved oak throne chairs. The original finish is very good for their age, these antiques date from the 1880's. The original leather seats are worn and damaged, see photos.
These chairs may have been intended for an entrance hall, but were also placed in churches, synagogues and lodges for official seating.
The larger chair is 25" wide, 21" deep and 5'10" tall at the back, the seat is 19" from the floor.
The smaller chair is 24" wide, 21" deep and 5'1" tall at the back, the seat is 19" from the floor.
