Pine 1850's Antique Pine Trunk or Chest, Wrought Iron Mounts
A pine trunk or chest was hand made around 1850 with wrought iron mounts and handles plus hand cut dovetail joints. There are cut square nails and wooden pegs. Worn inscription date is 1859 with initials of APD?
Only traces of the original red paint survive, preserved with a fine finish of clear varnish. There are losses, shrinkage separations and stains for antique character.
Size is 25" wide, 15" deep and 13" tall.
