A primitive carpenter's workbench from the late 1800's makes an interesting wine and cheese tasting table today. The finish is in excellent condition, preserving loads of antique character from a century's use - mars, dings and stains, see photos.
A clamp or vise has an iron screw and handle, there is also a wrought iron peg that fits into holes in the top to secure woodworking projects.
Hand crafted in Wisconsin, there is a recessed tray for parts and tools next to the top. Exposed mortise and tenon joints are authentic.
Made of pine except for the work surface, which is a single plank of maple, 3" thick and 15" wide. Overall dimensions are 76" long, 20" deep excluding the vise, 28" deep with the vise and 35" tall.
