A wonderful solid wormy walnut three door bookcase was hand carved in the Renaissance manner with fluted columns about 1890 for a palazzo in northern Italy.
The original finish is very well preserved and has been waxed and buffed, so all that is needed to maintain the warm patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth. There are shrinkage separations from age, see photos.
Doors have wrought iron grills over glass, one tiny rosette is lost. Three doors have working locks and shelves adjust on wooden supports
Size is 7' 1/2" wide at the tip of the crown, 21" deep and 76" tall, interior depth is 12 1/2." It does not break down at all for moving.
